About KLISC Pre-AGM 2017 Conference
Welcome to the KLISC Pre-AGM 2017 Conference on Library and Information Science. The conference is to be held in Mombasa, Pwani University during May 25th.The Conference aims to offer a forum for LIS practitioners and professionals from different institutions and organizations to share research achievements and to establish research network and to find partners for future collaboration. Prospective contributors are welcome to submit full papers or abstracts.

The main theme of the conference is: "Library and Information Science contribution to UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kenya: quality education through access to information and knowledge”, with the following sub-themes:

· Developing Information and Knowledge Services
· Health information services
· Information Literacy
· Open Access
· Technology Impact on Learning, Research and Users
· Bibliometric Research
· Case Studies Related to Librarianship
· Copyright Status and Licenses (e.g. Creative Commons, Open Data Commons)
· Development and Assessment of Digital Repositories
· Digital Archives/ Preservation of documentary information
· Future Libraries
· Gray Literature
· MOOCs and LIS Education
· Case studies on: School Libraries, Special Library, Technology and Innovations in Libraries
· Other Emerging Issues Related to Libraries
This is a call for papers for the conference. Interested authors are invited to submit abstracts (500-600 words) on the main theme or sub-themes, as well as on related subjects.
Submission Deadline for Abstracts: March 17, 2017
Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: 14 days after Submission
Final Manuscript Deadline: April 21, 2017
Registration Deadline: April 28, 2017
Tentative conference program announcement: May 5, 2017
Submission of presentations: May 12, 2017
Conference dates: May 25, 2017
Outstanding Paper Awards
About five to ten percent (5-10%) of accepted papers will be select as Outstanding Papers. The Outstanding Papers list will be announced in conference program.
Requirements for manuscript preparation.
Code of Conduct:
Contributors must confirm that manuscripts are UNPUBLISHED and NOT under review anywhere else.
Contributors MUST prepare their manuscripts in English. American or British style is acceptable, but contributors should use one consistently throughout.
Manuscripts should conform to APA (American Psychological Association) style. For more technical specification regarding citations and references, please refer to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
Contributors who fail to prepare manuscripts in accordance with our “Requirements for manuscript preparation” will be asked to revise and re-submit their manuscripts.
*We reserve the rights to make necessary adjustments to typesetting of manuscript to maintain the quality of proceedings.
Contributors are required to submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word. Manuscripts submitted in any format other than Microsoft Word will NOT be considered.

The organizers of the conference are not in apposition to provide sponsorship to participants. Authors of selected papers are responsible for conference fees, travel and/or accommodation.
