Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium was established in 2003 with the main objective of collective subscription to electronic resources to cope with the increasing cost of information resources. Subsequently, it was agreed that the Consortium would draw its membership from University Libraries, Research institutions, Public/National Libraries. Since its inception, the Secretariat of the Consortium has been based at the University of Nairobi library.

International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP)
INASP's work focuses on communication, knowledge and networks, with particular emphasis on the needs of developing and emerging countries.
INASP responds to their national priorities for:
